Fabio Toriello, lawyer and professor

Resident in Ticino since 2011 and operating here full time, since 2017 he cooperates with the law office as "counsel" concerning matters related to international transport law and Italian law. He graduated with honours from the University of Genoa in July 1990 before starting his collaboration with Toriello LSN as a partner in 1994. Prior to this he had gained job experience in England in the maritime insurance industry and worked Deorchis & Partners, N.Y. (1992) and Balestra Kielland Dardani, Genoa (1992/1993). He has been the Managing Partner of the Toriello LSN network since 2012.

He has been a private law professor at the University of Sassari since 2015 giving courses in private law, comparative law, information law and legal English in various European universities.
He is the author of a monograph on shipping contracts (2014), a volume on the legal position of foreign citizens and entities in comparative law (1997), a volume on European law integration through the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice. He is the editor of a book on consumer contracts and a volume on product liability (1999). He has also made over a hundred contributions to journals and volumes on various themes relating to private law, comparative law and international, transport and shipping law.

Memberships and awards
Member of the Italian association of comparative law, he adheres to the Henry Capitant Association.
He is a member of the editorial board for the journals “Contratto e impresa/Europa”, “Diritto del turismo” and “Responsabilità medica”.
Education
Graduated in jurisprudence at the University of Genoa in July 1990, he also attended a specialisation course in community law at Louvain-la-neuve in 1995. He obtained his Ph.D. in comparative law in Rome in 1999.

Teacher of legal English, he is fluent in English and French and Italian.
