Luca Beretta Piccoli, attorney at law and notary

Luca Beretta Piccoli is one of the most recognized experts at a cantonal level in the area of spatial planning, construction, public procurement and environmental law.

He gained significant experience in the public sector, working firstly as a counsel for the Cantonal Construction, Spatial Planning and Environmental Department, and then as Head of the Justice Division of the Department of Home Affairs of Canton Ticino.

From 1999 to 2015 he served as a member of the Cantonal Parliament. During his terms, he was mainly active in the spatial planning and energy parliament committees where he drafted several acts.

Since 1996 he has worked as an attorney at law and public notary in our law firm, of which he is co-founder.

Professional experience

Luca Beretta Piccoli has been working as attorney at law with the law firm TEAM LEGAL SA, originally Law office Respini Rossi Beretta Piccoli since 1996. Also since 1996 he operates as public notary.

From 1995 to 1996 he was Head of the Justice Division of the Cantonal Department of Home Affairs.

Previously, he worked as a counsel for the Legal Service Division of the Cantonal Department of spatial planning.

From 1984 to 1988 he was a legal trainee and then an attorney at law in a law firm in Lugano.

Awards and memberships
He is a member of the Ticino and Swiss Notaries Association.

In the past he has been an active member of several associations concerning his areas of interest. In particular, he was a member of the Committee of the National Association for Territorial Planning (ASPAN), Ticino District, and of the Swiss Association for Environmental Law (VUR-ADE).

From 1999 to 2015 he served has a Member of Parliament for the Canton of Ticino. During his terms, he was a member of the spatial planning and energy committee and of the legislation committee.
 
He drafted the revision of the Cantonal Act on Administrative Procedure (LPAmm) and the new Cantonal Act on Spatial Planning (LST).
 
Education
He was admitted to the Ticino and Swiss Bar in 1986 and to the Ticino Notaries Association in 1987.

He graduated from the University of Lausanne in 1983 before obtaining the Diploma of the Institut de Hautes Ètudes en Administration Publique (IDHEAP; Lausanne).
